The Outcome of Worship....
Been thinking a lot about the outcome of worship lately. I would say for the most part the church knows the object of their worship, this would be Jesus and He is the centerpiece to our worship. "Holy, Holy, Holy, worthy is the Lamb that was slain." What we don't think about to much is what happens when we worship. I think about the story in Acts 16 when Paul and Silas where thrown into prison. Its says they started singing hymns unto the Lord and the outcome was three fold.
1.) The foundations of the earth (the place where they resided) shook.
2.) Everyone's chains in prison were broken. (not just Silas and Paul's chains)
3.) The prison guard fell at Paul's feet and asked, "What must I do to be saved?"
To me this is so beautiful for the church understand because it shows us that our worship is our weapon to free the prisoner, the shift the issues of a city, and extend the reality of God's love to those who are unsaved.
Paul again writes in 2 Corinthians 10 that our weapons are not of this world but on the contrary, they are that of divine power.
So good. So next time you're worshiping keep the focus on the Lamb and know that through this your worship becomes a weapon.
